Fenua Letters is a monthly letter sent from French Polynesia.
I don’t write about an imaginary island life. I write about the one I actually live.
Some months, the story begins with a horse, a bird, a fisherman, a river, a storm, a neighbour, or simply something I almost didn’t notice. These are small, real moments from everyday life here — not perfect, not staged, and not always postcard-beautiful.
I write them because I’ve come to realise that the ordinary things we live every day often become precious only when we stop long enough to see them.
Each month, you receive one of these stories by post, inside a real envelope, with a few carefully chosen paper extras connected to the story.
Fenua Letters is for people who still like opening a mailbox and finding something that was written, printed, prepared and sent by a real person, from a real place, for them.
No endless content. No polished travel fantasy. Just one place, one moment, one true story at a time.

Why am I doing this?
Because technology is incredible. Amazing.
But I also think we've probably automated enough for today.
Life wasn't meant to be lived in a constant state of optimization with a lingering feeling that you’re falling behind. It doesn't feel good and it's also not true. It's like a little bit of our soul leaves our body forever with each new prompt.
My hope is that this can play a small part in allowing us to pump the brakes a little.
It might make you laugh. Or it might say something you feel deeply. If we're lucky, maybe it will do both at the same time.
