Life at Rookscroft carries on in its cosy comforting way, and you can be part of that world every month when, a lovingly crafted letter from your friends beyond the sea arrives in your letterbox.

Its stories begin when Jayne, an artist and narrator, discovers that the animals living around her old house have lives, friendships and adventures entirely of their own.
It all begins when Vernon, a self-important pheasant and hat-maker, appears at the study window demanding a portrait, and soon we meet Quentin, a poetry-writing golden pheasant who lives beneath a rose bush and many other wonderful creatures whose lives run parallel to our own. Robin, an endlessly cheerful little quail, is found in a vegetable basket and, as the world grows, travelling circus animals, mysterious cats, ravens, bears, and others wander into their lives.

The stories are cosy, whimsical and often funny, but they're also about friendship, loneliness, belonging and found family.

Letters from Rookscroft lets you follow their lives through the seasons. Each month, a new piece of correspondence from Rookscroft arrives in the post, accompanied by original artwork, tiny letters from the island's inhabitants, and little keepsakes tied to the everyday life and stories happening there.

## The Merryvale Letters
*Bringing magic, wonder, and hope back into the modern realm*

The origin story of the man the world came to know as Claus — before the legend began.

Two mailings arrive at your door each month: sealed, addressed to you by name, and sent from a world that history forgot to record.

Before the legend, there were letters.
Somewhere in the foothills of North Alabama, inside the boundary of Bankhead National Forest, there is a piece of land called Merryvale.

The people who live there will tell you it is simply a homestead. Thirty-four acres of quiet. A place where the seasons turn slowly and the nights are very dark and very still.

They will not tell you everything.

Craig and Aila Cringle have spent years in the company of Christmas. Whether that work is something they do, or simply something they are... well... that is a question Merryvale does not answer directly.

What it has produced is The Record of Olde, an archive of letters, documents, and correspondence recovered from a village called Myra, telling the unaccounted history of Nicholas from the very beginning. The letters arrive from an Archivist whose identity and whereabouts remain unknown, though he knows of Merryvale and has chosen it as his point of delivery.

This is not a retelling. It is an unearthing.
